Philippines: The 8th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum (ARF) Inter-Sessional Meeting on Maritime Security took place in Manilla on 6 and 7 April. The meeting  gathered 103 officials from ASEAN member states such as Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Korea, Russia, Sri Lanka, Timor Leste and the US, as well as ASEAN secretariat officials. Philippines is an active supporter of an ASEAN community that enhances maritime security and cooperation, as well as adopts internationally accepted maritime conventions and principles to promote peace and stability in the region: http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2016/04/07/1570338/philippines-hosting-forum-asean-maritime-security
